We are an art & design educational consultancy and platform co-founded by Fahad N Al Saud, Jowaher A Al Saud and Noura A Al Saud; specializing in developing and collaborating on workshops, seminars and lectures. Having the same upbringing in Saudi Arabia and later on living abroad in the UK, and as University of the Arts London alumni’s, we decided to take what we had experienced in the UK back to Saudi and incorporate it locally, thusly contributing to the social, cultural and academic scene; where art and design has been at its peak in the recent years and is highly in demand.
We aim to develop local talents by running intensive and short-term collaborative workshops and community engagement projects on a semi-monthly basis. This fulfils the students’ needs to broaden their artistic horizon, develop their skills and obtain international and well recognized certificates, as well as creating annual events to showcase their work. Moreover, our target is to work closely with local universities institutes and companies and integrate the workshops within their curriculum. Lastly, our goal is to create a design hub that allows local artists and designers to network, develop and showcase their work.
Due to our educational and professional backgrounds, we became part of the local art scene, therefore, we became much more aware of what is lacking in the local art and design education. Combined, we are more connected, firstly, with the government; decision-makers who can help us with bureaucratic procedures. Secondly, with numerous local and international artists, designers and academics, who we can collaborate with and therefore contribute to our plan. Finally, we are also connected with art and design organizations and foundations who can help execute our vision.
Due to the high demand of short-term art and design courses that we locally lack, we are very interested in developing workshops, that are of higher standards; therefore, we are bringing intensive, focused short termed courses from well-known international universities to the local Saudi talents for a shorter period of time to what is offered between Riyadh and Jeddah. That way, we would eventually have a leading role in the art and design scene in Saudi Arabia.
We would mainly be based in Riyadh, where we need to be most of the time to operate all local projects and workshops. Eventually, after expansion, we would also operate from Jeddah and the Eastern Province, where their art & design scene is booming. However, we would also be operating from London for work purposes, due to our connections with multiple art & design universities.
